During this scene, Macduff and Malcolm have a very big conversation where Malcolm tries to find out if Macduff is loyal to Macbeth or not. “Be this the whetstone of your sword. Let grief convert to anger. Blunt not the heart, enrage it.” Malcolm uses this quote during the scene which contains the use of a metaphor. If we were to translate this quote, it would explain that he wants Macduff to transform his grief into anger and use it to sharpen his sword. This is a very powerful message that is portrayed during the scene and shows the hatred towards Macbeth from Malcolm.
